World Book Day
“Reading is a conversation. All books talk, but a good book listens as well”.
On 25th April DPS Junior Wing celebrated World Book Day by conducting a special assembly. The host for this assembly was class 4th D. The assembly began with a didactic prayer followed by a thought. One of the students also spoke few lines about World Book Day. The students sang a melodious song and also performed a beautiful dance. The aim of the assembly was to convey the message of importance of books in our lives and to inspire everyone for reading books.
The assembly concluded with a speech delivered by the Headmistress, Ms. Shobhna Sirohi wherein she told about the importance of reading books and instructed students to read books regularly. Furthermore she instructed teachers that each student should maintain a month wise record of the books they read (mentioning the author and no. of pages of the book). The same should be checked by the concerned teachers for developing their habit and interest towards reading. The Headmistress promised them that they will be felicitated at the end of the session.
